Balenciaga has unveiled its new and unique perfume collection, consisting of ten fragrances that transcend traditional concepts of perfumery, opening new horizons in the world of luxury scents. The collection strikes a captivating balance between fusion and tension, seamlessly blending the past with the present.
This collection pays tribute to the house’s legacy, which began over seventy years ago when Cristóbal Balenciaga launched his first fragrance, “Le Dix.” It reflects the passage of time through renewal and transformation, with each fragrance standing as a living testament to the aromatic identity established by the Spanish designer—a perfect marriage of sartorial mastery and revolutionary sculptural vision.

The creation of this collection took fifteen years of meticulous research within the house’s archives, culminating in the rediscovery of a forgotten perfume bottle from 1947—the very first fragrance created by Cristóbal Balenciaga. The bottles have been meticulously reproduced to replicate every original detail, featuring a spherical glass cap and hand-tied ribbon, all encased in packaging that bears the marks of time.
The house employed advanced industrial techniques to implement a process called “intentional aging,” giving the collection a unique character built on contrasts and dualities between old and new. The original “Le Dix” packaging was also redesigned, with the Balenciaga logo prominently displayed on the outer cover wrapped in the house’s signature industrial gray—a symbolic fusion of past and present.

The color spectrum of the collection ranges from luminous transparency to smoky shades, culminating in volcanic black, reflecting intensity and evolution over time. Each fragrance reveals a new facet of innovation, where traditional French craftsmanship blends with modern aromatic signatures inside an artistic bottle that exudes creativity.
Perfume enthusiasts can acquire the collection starting September 10 at Balenciaga’s historic boutique at:
10 Avenue George V, 75008 Paris, as well as at selected Balenciaga stores across Europe and North America, and via the brand’s official website. The collection will later be gradually introduced in select stores across the Middle East, Asia, and other regions worldwide.
