Egypt Fashion Week 2nd edition: "evolution"

Dec 3, 2025

In its second edition, titled "Evolution," Egypt Fashion Week reflected on the learnings and progress achieved since its inaugural launch in 2023.

Today, Egypt celebrates its heritage and civilization more than ever, inspiring our creative community to draw from cultural narratives, embrace homegrown natural linens and cottons, and champion our vast pool of craftsmanship. Together, these elements pave the way for a sustainable future and help forge a distinctly contemporary Egyptian design identity.

This year’s edition kicked off on Thursday, November 27th, with an exclusive VIP opening night hosted by the Italian Ambassador to Egypt,

H.E. Agostino Palese. The evening honored the enduring cultural ties between Egypt and Italy and welcomes esteemed Italian guests of EFW, including couturier Maurizio Galante and representatives from White Milano.

In keeping with EFW's commitment to community engagement, guests enjoyed a curated culinary experience blending Italian and Egyptian flavors, presented by Black O., Granita, and Maison Choc, three of Egypt's leading restaurateurs and caterers.

On Friday, November 28th, EFW opened its doors to the public, taking over the iconic Consoleya building and Bedair House, located at 27 Talaat Harb Street in downtown Cairo, recently revitalized by Coterie, EFW's premier partner.

Over the following two days, EFW visitors entered through a lush,

courtyard featuring a stylish VALU café, before discovering the "Room Service" activation on the 5th floor. This unique experience brought together leading Egyptian designers and artisans, alongside workshops and curated exhibitions. Higher up, guests enjoyed a series of runway shows organized by industry veteran Amina Shelbaya, with models styled and glammed by Al Sagheer Salons.

In parallel, guests engaged with a dynamic roster of panel discussions addressing the most current and pressing themes across design, craftsmanship, education, sustainability, finance, media, and more. The panels features over 30 influential local and international voices, including Ayman Fakoussa, Managing Partner of The Qode; cultural ambassador HRIH Archduchess Camilla von Habsburg-Lothringen, Azza Fahmy head designer Amina Ghali, Camilla Fracasso Diaferia of White Milano, Shirene Rifai, founder of Jordan Fashion Week and Shahira Mehrez.

Workshops by Jordanian guest designer Laith Maalouf, CDDs Walid Khiry and MSNj organization, which turns cactus into yarn.

Complementing these talks, exhibitions by eight of Egypt’s leading fashion programs, some presented in partnership with GTEX program of the International Trade Centre and Drosos Foundation highlighted outstanding student’s work. Fashion enthusiasts also had the chance to explore the latest fashion literature curated by Diwan Bookstore.

On its final day, Sunday, November 30th, EFW designers set up shop at JAY Store, Downtown Mall, New Cairo, for the “Shop the Runway” exhibition, offering visitors the opportunity to purchase pieces directly from the collections showcased on the runway.

The board of The Egyptian Fashion & Design Council would like to thank the following sponsors and partners, for their generosity and vision to contribute to the growth of our talents and youth within our industry: Coterie/Sigma, Consoleya, The Italian embassy, Afreximbank, official financial partner Ulter by Valu, International Trade Agency, The British Council, Drosos, official mobility partner London Cab/Abou Ghaly, TFP agency, Al Sagheer Salons, Carte Blanche, Al Ahram Beverages, Amina Shelbaya, Oriental Weavers, Kahal Carpets, Marie Louis, The British University, Cairo Design District, Granita, Black O, Maison Choc, Sage Experience.
