1925-2025: As the Maison celebrates its centenary year FENDI looks forward, reflecting on milestones and memories from across thedecades. Landing back in 1 977, the FENDI Summer 2025 collection is a fresh wink at Karl Lagerfeld's first-ever expression of FENDI Ready-to-Wear forSpring/Summer 1978 collection immortalized not in a fashion show, but through the mythical tale of Histoire d'Eau.

Directed by the French intellectual Jacques De Bascher and set in the heart of FENDI's hometown of Rome, this elegant, cinematic summer sojourn is known as the world's first fashion film, and follows the journey of a glamorous traveller played by Susy Dyson who treats Rome as her own personal playground - basking in the Roman sunshine and playing in the city's fountains with luxurious abandon. Visiting the 5 Fendi sisters in their fashion atelier, writing postcards to her family and traipsing around the city's monuments, this enigmatic protagonist perfectly at ease in her iconic surroundings - inspires a resolutely modern take on FENDI summer style.

Drawing upon the sun-drenched palette of a Roman summer and the exuberant sophistication of the Italian seaside, the FENDI Summer 2025 collection elevates breezy fabrics and casual ensembles with cocooning shapes and nature-inspired embroideries. Inspired by archival motifs that appear in Histoire d'Eau, the sculptural forms of red coral are aleitmotif throughout, adorning necklines and jewellery as embroidered details, appearing alone or intertwined with ornate bandana florals and giant underwater blooms in the season's playful prints for men and women. From coral red and sandy terracotta to seafoam, buttermilk, iced lemon and ocean blue, the colour card reveals irreverent expressions of FENDI by the sea.

Harking back to the graphic ornamentation of the film's wardrobe and its opulent surrounds, sensual combinations emerge in ensemble silhouettes, city shorts and floating maxi dresses. The rich savoir faire and design rigor of the FENDI ateliers can be felt in myriad treatments, finishes and embellishments across the collection, as patterns come to life in swathes of patchwork devoré lace, delicate lambskin leather appliqué, and touches of coral on beaded collars or sculpted jewellery.

Inflected with sportif touches, outerwear designs marry the dry, luxuriant textures of laser cut floral chambray denim and patchwork FF silk jacquards, with contoured stitched outlines defining stretch cotton shapes from flared figure-hugging tank dresses and a twisted pencil skirt. Strings of golden shells abound as hardware and decoration, embellishing athletic coral swimwear styles and beach tunics. An exercise in masculine summer style reprises Coral bandana prints, embroideries and postcard-inspired graphics across stand collar mid-sleeve shirts and matching silk shorts, whilst coral and sand striped knitwear is infused with a sense of athletic nostalgia.

These artisanal gestures are woven throughout the FENDI Summer 2025 Accessories collection, where diverse raffia techniques abound in conversation with trompe l'oeil 'denim' Cuoio Romano leather, denim FF jacquards and coral bandana motifs. New spacious Summer Tote join the FENDI family of Peekaboo, Baguette and By The Way styles - all transformed with precious workmanships whilst maintaining a nonchalant glamour thanks to the cool, seaside palette and bright, often two-tone effect.

On foot, the new FENDI Fling thong sandal wraps across the instep with a single abstract 'F' strap, joining the classic FENDI Colibri pumps and flat form wedges re-imagined in Sea Garden embroideries, bandana prints and panels of raffia mesh. For men, FF buckled suede sandals and Selleria stitched grain leather slides underpin the collection's holiday mood with an air of effortless elegance.

FENDI Charms return as a playful element to accessorize bags with a sense of artistry, color and material flair, from origami leather fish and chain charms adorned with seaside talismans to cotton bandanas and a plush jellyfish design. Silk elements feature the Coral bandana print as foulard, poncho and wraparound styles. Handmade raffia and denim hats with oversize brims complete the silhouette with a carefree allure.

The FENDI Summer 2025 collection is available in FENDI boutiques worldwide from May 1 st, with early arrivals from the Raffia collection from April 3 rd, 2025.
