"Is Beauty the new Birkin?" "Longevity" Panel Talk & SKINSDIAMOND Trunkshow in Wertheim Village

Oct 1, 2025

Luxury is evolving. Instead of status symbols, today's values center around self-care, knowledge and holistic wellbeing. Beauty is no longer just about make-up, it has become an expression of a new kind of luxury, rooted in longevity, science and inner strength.

Small rituals, big impact

In times of social and economic uncertainty, people seek out small moments of self-care. Beauty has long been considered the luxury of crisis, when a new handbag felt out of reach, a lipstick offered a small but powerful indulgence. The so-called "Lipstick Index", coined by Estée Lauder Chairman Leonard Lauder, describes this phenomenon: when everything feels uncertain, a small beauty product becomes an act of self-empowerment.

From make-up to longevity

Today, the focus has shifted from fleeting enhancement to skincare with a promise of longevity. Women are increasingly investing in products that strengthen, regenerate and biologically rejuvenate the skin over time. The term longevity originated in medical research on life extension and was adopted by the beauty industry around 2022. It now represents a holistic approach that connects outer beauty with inner health and prevention. At its core are the so-called "Hallmarks of Aging", biological processes that can be targeted to slow down visible signs of aging.

SKINSDIAMOND – Where science meets aesthetics

One brand that embodies this paradigm shift is SKINSDIAMOND, founded by German-Iranian scientist M.Sc. Marjam Al Hakim. Her concept combines high-precision skincare with scientifically backed supplements, made in Germany, clean-formulated, and free from parabens, silicones or fragrances. The products are based on natural ingredients such as algae, chamomile, almonds, chlorella, vanilla, pomegranate or olives, tailored to theskin's individual needs.

Trunkshow at Wertheim Village

On 17 and 18 October 2025, Wertheim Village will host the second SKINSDIAMOND Trunkshow in The Apartment, an exclusive event redefining the intersection of science, aesthetics and luxury. Guests can look forward to individual skin analysis, consultations with plastic surgeon Dr.Sarah Haiati, a professional photo shoot, curated goodie bags, and a very special highlight:

Panel Talk – Saturday, 18 October

Under the title "Is Beauty the New Birkin?", Marjam AlHakim and fellow experts will discuss the future of beauty, the role of science in the luxury industry, and the rise of female entrepreneurship. The talk is open not only to medical professionals but to anyone interested in holistic beauty and female empowerment.

Empowerment meets luxury

At the heart of this movement are female founders who are setting new standards with innovation, scientific expertise and entrepreneurial courage. Marjam Al Hakim is one of them, her brand SKINSDIAMOND is a testament to how skincare, research and empowerment can go hand in hand. She founded the brand out of a personal need.

"Sometimes you have to feel the pressure on your own skin to fully commit to finding the right solution."

This makes the Trunkshow a perfect fit for the philosophy of The Bicester Collection, a place where luxury is not just consumed, but reimagined. With initiatives like Unlock Her Future, which supports female entrepreneurship around the world, the group reinforces its commitment to visibility, equality and empowerment.
