Burberry builds on its heritage of British craft with two new expressions of the trench.

Informed by more than 160 years of outerwear innovation, Burberry’s core rainwear selection is woven, tailored, and hand-finished in Yorkshire, England. Each piece is crafted from cotton gabardine – the shower-resistant fabric invented by founder Thomas Burberry – and lined with the house’s iconic check.

Launching as part of the Burberry Winter 2025 collection, the Fitzrovia trench and Ellingham car coat reinterpret signature silhouettes with added volume, wider sleeves, and a fuller skirt for a refined fit-and-flare shape. A belted waist cinches the design, while raglan sleeves – a feature of the earliest Burberry trench coats – offer freedom of movement and a softly curved shoulder.

The new styles join established pieces from Burberry’s Heritage and contemporary rainwear collections. From the more structured look of the Kensington and slim-fitting Chelsea, detailed with leather-wrapped buckles and archival elements, to the generous proportions and brushed metal hardware of the Castleford trench.

Burberry’s signature rainwear collection is available globally at key stores and online.
