Symphony of the Future: Celebrating Chalhoub Group's 70th Anniversary in Kuwait

Nov 12, 2025

“Today, Chalhoub Group celebrates 70 years of excellence, passion, heritage, resilience, and shared success: 70 years of an extraordinary human adventure. This is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and immense pride. The success of our Group rests on two pillars: our People and our Partners. To our partners, our relationship built over decades on trust and shared belief in the potential of Kuwait has been fundamental to our success. I particularly cherish our
partnership with the Habchi family, for over fifty years, it is one of our proudest stories. We are deeply proud of all we have achieved together. To our 16,000 people, including nearly 1,000 here in Kuwait, you are the beating heart of Chalhoub Group. Your entrepreneurial spirit, passion, creativity, and relentless pursuit of excellence bring our values to life every day. You inspire, delight, and elevate the experience of millions of customers across the region. Thank you for your dedication and commitment.
Over these 70 years, we have learned that success is never a solo performance: it is a symphony, composed of many notes, many hands, and many hearts working in harmony. That is why we celebrate this milestone under the theme “Symphony of the Future.” The story of Chalhoub Group in Kuwait is one of partnership, friendship, and shared ambition, and I am convinced that the most beautiful movements of our symphony are still ahead of us.”

— Patrick Chalhoub, Executive Chairman, Chalhoub Group

“Tonight, as we celebrate seventy years of Chalhoub Group, we also look ahead. This milestone is not an ending; it is a beginning.
Our purpose remains clear: to build a future where luxury dreams become reality. But how we do it is evolving. The world around us is transforming, and so are we. Our vision is focused and bold: to strengthen our leadership in this region, to internationalise our own brands, and to become a true global luxury brand builder. From the GCC to Latin America, from Europe to the United States, we are writing the next chapter of our journey, one that bridges cultures, celebrates craftsmanship, and creates value for generations to come.
Our Vision 2033: Bridging Horizons sets a clear direction for the next decade. To deliver it, we are guided by three enablers: AI, talent, and operational excellence, working together to help us scale responsibly, innovate confidently, and stay true to our values.
To our teams, you are the heart of this Group. To our partners, you are the rhythm that keeps us moving forward. And to our customers, you are the reason we exist and the inspiration behind everything we do.
As we celebrate here in Kuwait, I want to thank all our partners for bringing us to this day. We are committed to this market, and we continue to invest in our people, in new opportunities, and in creating exceptional luxury experiences for our Kuwaiti consumers. Most importantly, we are investing in this community, not only for the third generation, but for all future generations.”

— Michael Chalhoub, CEO, Chalhoub Group

Kuwait City, Kuwait – 12th November 2025 – On November 10th, 2025, Chalhoub Group hosted a reception at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre (Opera House) in Kuwait to celebrate its 70th anniversary, expressed by the theme Symphony of the Future. Through this narrative, Chalhoub Group continues to see success not as a solo performance but as a collective journey powered by collaboration with local talent, institutions, partners, and the community. The Group invests in nurturing creativity, delivering culturally rich experiences, and empowering people, building not just retail spaces but moments of connection, pride, and inspiration for generations to come.

More than a milestone, the occasion was a celebration of shared history, deep appreciation, and a renewed commitment to co-creating a prosperous future with Kuwait: a country that has been not only central to the Group’s journey and identity, but also where the Group launched its pioneering brands, beginning with Tanagra - the Group’s very first luxury boutique - in 1980, followed by the first Louis Vuitton boutique in the Middle East in 1983, and Faces in 1989. Over the years, it introduced and expanded beloved brands such as Level Shoes and Christofle, cementing its reputation as a curator of luxury experiences and as a long-term partner in the country’s growth.

Since its founding in 1955, Chalhoub Group has evolved from a family-run business into a regional luxury retailer with global reach. What began as a small boutique in Damascus has grown into a Group that operates across eight countries in the Middle East and collaborates with some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands. Through Beirut, Kuwait, and later Dubai, the Group has built an enduring legacy of trust, craftsmanship, and partnership - blending entrepreneurial spirit with cultural appreciation. Today, Chalhoub Group continues to expand internationally while remaining deeply committed to the region that shaped it, guided by its purpose to build a future where luxury dreams become reality.

For over 50 years, Chalhoub Group has been part of Kuwait’s luxury and retail evolution. The anniversary celebration brought together distinguished guests from across Kuwait, marking a heartfelt return to a country that represents both the Group’s heritage and its future. Guests included institutional leaders, commercial partners, and local media.

Among the attendees were Dr. Hilal Al Sayer, Founder of the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH) and of Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice (BACCH), Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Dasman Diabetes Institute, Former President of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), and Former Minister of Health of Kuwait, who said: “I have been close to the Chalhoub family and the Group for many years, and their presence in Kuwait is a testament to their dedication to excellence, local talent development, and social responsibility. Their contributions strengthen our retail landscape while empowering communities.”

Looking ahead, expressed by the Symphony of the Future, Chalhoub Group will continue to drive growth and excellence in Kuwait’s luxury sector, investing in people, partnerships, and local expertise, while contributing meaningfully to the country’s cultural and economic development. The story of Chalhoub Group in Kuwait is one of shared dreams, shared vision, and shared progress, and the most inspiring movements of this symphony are still to come.
