Celine presented its Spring/Summer 2026 collection on October 5 during Paris Fashion Week, in a show that reflected a continuation of the creative vision introduced last July. It felt as though the previous presentation had never truly ended, the men and women simply kept walking, the seasons shifted, and the garments became part of the memories we create while wearing them.

In this show, Michael Rider, the new Creative Director of the house, offered a tangible and refreshed perspective on ready to wear fashion, marking his first official collection with a distinct and confident vision. Breaking away from traditional show settings, Rider chose not the usual white boxes or forgotten warehouses, but a location 45 minutes west of Paris, the expansive Saint Cloud Park, spanning over 1,000 acres of lush greenery and open skies. Here, sunlight and natural light became integral to the experience.

The scarves first introduced in the July presentation reappeared as key elements in this collection, reimagined as oversized handbags adorned with tanned leather straps, as details on elegant evening blouses, or tied around everyday bags, symbolizing the connection between past and present within Celine’s creative narrative.

The collection struck a balance between restraint and freedom, blending precision with contemporary sophistication. The show opened with three "baby doll" dresses, two featuring 1960s inspired floral prints and one crafted from pure black wool, short enough to reveal modest glimpses of the body in a way that was graceful rather than provocative, blending seamlessly into the rhythm of the presentation.

Tailored suits were redesigned with meticulous craftsmanship, accompanied by embroidered African inspired necklaces and jackets with slanted buttons. Practical touches, such as models carrying handbags or daily helmets bearing the Celine logo, added a sense of realism, evoking the busy routines of the modern working woman.

It is clear that Rider aims to preserve the loyalty of Celine’'s diverse clientele, from admirers of Phoebe Philo’'s refined femininity to followers of Hedi Slimane's bold edge, while establishing his own distinctive vision infused with a subtle American sensibility shaped by his experience at Ralph Lauren. He demonstrates a deep understanding of the difference between rebranding a fashion house and reimagining it, skillfully drawing on Celine's heritage to build its future.
